Seven of Cups

Seven of Cups

Description: -
A woman in a red gown lounges barefoot, resting in a chair in plush comfort with seven golden cups sitting all around her. She seems to be daydreaming or just relaxing. Behind her is a misty blue swamp with trees fading into the fog and birds glide across the sky. Light from the sky reflects in the water.

In a Reading: Procrastination. You need to turn off the television and retrieve your creative mind. A creative mind that is not stimulated to action often spends too much time daydreaming of possibilities and procrastinating, or wasting time watching reruns on television. This is often used as an escape from having too much to do and not knowing where to start.

The distraction of having too many choices or options not only lowers the consciousness, it leads to confusion and indecision. It may be difficult to pick one thing and focus on it but that is what is necessary. Take some time to go over each option with clarity and eliminate the ones you do not feel strongly about. If you do not do this, you will remain is this funk where you will do nothing and you will create more confusion and disorganization in your mind and life. Find something or some reason that will motivate you to taking some action, no matter how small. Once you make a choice to focus on one of your options then you can and get started moving towards the goal you want to achieve.

Regarding your occupation: If you are in a business that requires you to be precise and practical you must narrow your options for efficiency and to save money. Do this by paying better attention to your overhead and expenses. This card may be a warning of some shady dealings going on behind your back that you are unaware of simply because you are unorganized and not paying attention to details. For an artist or writer or other creative occupation, daydreaming can result in new ideas but they must be acted upon quickly before they fade from your thought processes as your mind wanders to the next thing. The best advice for this situation is for you to wake up and snap out of it and pay attention to what is going on in your business and your creative mind. Write down your ideas on paper, find a direction.

Regarding romance: You are undecided and hesitating in your search for a significant other and being tantalized and titillated by the sensation of falling in love but it is really infatuation with several different people. Each one seems to fall short and leads to disappointment. They don’t quite live up to your dreams and fantasies. You need to be more practical and think about what you can actually live with on a long term basis. Think more about what you truly want in a mate and then evaluate your available choices and decide what you really want or you may loose the one that is right for you. Don't give up or get lazy about your appearance because you don't want the love of your life to catch you off guard looking your worst.

Regarding your health: Fatigue is the result of your lack of interest and zest for life and lack of motivation. Because you are distracted you have foggy and disorganized thinking, and you are guilty of procrastination. What you should start doing is focusing on your own well being first. If you are not paying attention to your diet and not getting any exercise and if you lounge around in front of the television eating the wrong foods, drinking the wrong drinks, not attending to your own personal hygiene then you need to change your thinking and your focus. Stop the negative self talk, stop feeling guilty, stop admonishing yourself. If you can begin by clearing some of the clutter in your surroundings, that will increase your mental and physical energy. Don't be a hopeless escapist. Find a worthy purpose in your life, something that excites you and wakes you up, bringing you out of the fog.

Seven of Cups

General Advice:Too many options have put your mind into a state of confusion. Don’t think too much about it, just pick something and focus on it. Clutter will drain your energy. Procrastination will add to your feelings of guilt, so begin by doing some small thing that you can admire as an accomplishment no matter how small. It would help if it is something that has been nagging you for a while.

REVERSED: The situation has deteriorated to the point of the beginning stages of depression and fatigue. Procrastination has become a problem. Clutter is piling up and beginning to overwhelm you. Take some kind of action now that will guide you up the latter to a higher state of consciousness or emotion. Do something that makes you feel good about yourself.

Sir Francis Dicksee (1853-1928) is closely identified with the Pre-Raphaelites, although he was not a member of their brotherhood. Born into an artistic family, his father was also a painter and an etcher. The romantic allure of the younger Dicksee’s medieval style literary, allegorical, and biblical subjects outfitted in lavishly costumed and richly colored style earned him great success and popularity. Through his exhibits and growing association with the Royal Academy, he eventually became its President.
